Well, I have my 15 seconds of movie "fame". I went to the The Muffin Man screening on Tuesday night. The movie is campy & quite funny in spots... and there's an introduction by Lloyd Kaufman, director of the Toxic Avenger. Who knows, with a bit of luck our little show could become a cult movie.
It was an indy production, made for $1,100, so nobody got paid... however, cast & crew got copies of the DVD. The music's all original and pretty good... and there are some mp3's on the disk. I bought a bunch more, so Christmas shopping for the family is done!
After the show, we went to Key West (a non-smoking bar) and had a little celebration. I talked the waitress into giving us the hash house harrier discount, so we drank Big Rock beer for $3 a bottle. Apparently I left the bar too early though: the night was capped off by an "elitist, angry, venom-spewing artsy-fartsy filmmaker who harranged us at our table (until Anders expertly eviscerated him and shut him up)". Some folks have no taste for cheese.
